Some fact and statistics results in research of web design and development:

1. Nielsen studies showed: 50% of all users are search dominant, 20% are link dominant, and the rest exhibit mix behavior
2. Reading speed on a computer monitor is approximately 25 percent slower than reading speed for hardcopy. Therefore, do not force the user to read voluminous amounts of text
3. By the year 2000: 50% of web users are overseas
   By the year 2005: 80% of web users are overseas
4. Nielsen case studies: The cost of using the heuristic method is $10,500. The expected benefits were $500,000 (Nielsen 1994)
